Thanksgiving in Your Family

Music is a cultural and emotional anchor that brings together young and old and deepens the meaning and richness of holiday celebrations. Music instantly transports us to times and places and can evoke powerful memories of cherished times with family and friends. As parents of young children you are choosing the traditions your children will hold close and perhaps carry forward to the next generation. I invite you to find songs to sing with your family this Thanksgiving and become favorites.
The songs don't have to specifically be about Thanksgiving. You can transform a song you love with lyrics that focus on gratitude, kindness, giving or friendship. From the current Flute Collection (and on this playlist) you can sing " There's a Little Wheel Turnin' in my Heart" and invite your child to substitute people they are thankful for.
"I've got my Grandma and Grandpa in my heart"
Similarly, "May there always be Sunshine" (which is on this playlist) is perfect for including the people and things you love and are grateful for.
"May there always be Sunshine, May there always be blue skies, May there always be ____ May there always be me."
I curated this playlist for you all with the Thanksgiving themes of gratitude, kindness, friendship, giving, food, and of course, turkeys. Enjoy!
